Tracy Woodland
Founder & CEO, African Sojourns
Tracy Woodland founded African Sojourns in 2002, driven by a deep love for Africa and a growing number of requests from friends and family seeking thoughtfully curated, personalised travel experiences. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Tracy grew up exploring the wild and diverse landscapes of Africa—a passion that has shaped both her life and her career.
Before launching African Sojourns, Tracy spent nearly a decade in the travel industry, gaining hands-on experience in some of the continent’s most iconic destinations. Her career included a year working at a safari lodge in Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park, five years with Abercrombie & Kent in both London and Johannesburg, and a year with South African Airways, where she contributed to the development of their online tour operation platform.
Under her leadership, African Sojourns has grown steadily, earning a loyal following of repeat and referral clients. Tracy continues to travel extensively across Southern and East Africa with her family, constantly discovering new gems to share with clients. Her personal insight and professional expertise ensure every journey is designed with care, authenticity, and a deep understanding of what makes travel to Africa so extraordinary.
At African Sojourns, Tracy and her dedicated team are committed to “unlocking Africa’s experiences for you”—crafting bespoke itineraries that align with your interests, budget, and dreams. Based in Africa, and guided by firsthand experience, the team ensures that every trip reflects the soul of the continent and the individuality of each traveller.
